A mural can be described as any large painting either applied directly or permanently attached to a wall surface. The French term trompe l'oeil* is a better definition for the type of mural that uses three-dimensional effects and perspective drawing principles to "fool the eye."

Carolina Faux prices murals individually, based on many factors including size, complexity, amount of preliminary drawing and planning required, location (wall, ceiling, etc) and whether the artwork can be created off-site using canvas, or requires direct painting on the surface.

Ideas for murals are limited only by the imagination... and occasional logistic problems involving accessability and/or suitability of the surface to be decorated.

Photos and sketches are welcome, but please do not ask us to copy another artist's work or to duplicate copyrighted material.

*pronounced "tromp loy."
