Basic faux techniques are created from the many ways of applying and manipulating glazes over a base color. Positive techniques add transparent color in one or more layers of glaze, in effect changing the base color to create a range of tones. The versatile colorwash can take on many looks, from a deliberate brushed or ragged application to an ultra-soft blend of tones resembling watercolor. Parchment/Suede produces a very subtle washed effect that can be used as a background for other techniques, or to tone a wall color without adding an obvious pattern. |
